Here’s the thing. You’re going to read and hear a lot. Things like:

• Peyton’s injured.
• Peyton’s a choker.
• Peyton’s career is OVER HOLY FUCKING SHIT.
• The Colts era of dominance is done.
• Austin Collie is an angel from heaven who the Colts need to win.

With the exception of the last point, they’re all full of shit. This is the first time in Manning’s career he’s been mired in a slump. His tools are all still there. He’s passing the ball with strength and accuracy—it’s the unflappable decision making has been flapped. Combine that with injuries on the team and weak special teams and o-line and you’ve got the ugliest season in years. 

But you know what? The Colts can still go to the playoffs. They still have key players. They could get more players back. 

They still have Peyton Manning. He’s played poorly for three games. That’s less than 1% of his career. That’s what is called a small sample size. Manning will rise again and so will the Colts.
